The Mulvane girl's soccer team had two games last week, a home matchup against the Winfield Vikings and a home matchup against Wichita Classical. The Wildcats faced Winfield on Tuesday and the girls jumped out ahead of the Vikings in the first half, scoring 2 goals and held on for the 2-0 win after a scoreless second half. Jade Smallwood found the net on a very nice penalty kick and Kierra Cain scored a goal with an assist from Grace Carpenter. The Wildcat defense clamped down and did not allow very many shots on goal. Madison Shaw guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 1 save with 1 shot on goal. The JV game was a defensive battle as well and ended in a 0-0 tie.

The Wildcats hosted Wichita Classical on Thursday and the teams battled hard in the first half, neither getting an advantage over the other as they went into halftime tied 0-0. The Saints however were able to sneak a goal in on the Cats early in the second half. The Wildcats had a few close shots but were unable to find the net as they fell 0-1. Madison Shaw guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 4 saves with 5 shots on goal. The JV girls fell 0-3 to the Saints.

The varsity girls are sitting at 3-3 on the year and 2-1 in AVCTL league play. The JV girls are at 0-4-2 on the year. The Wildcats will be back in action on Tuesday, April 9th as they host the Collegiate Spartans in a varsity only game starting at 5:00 PM.
