The Mulvane softball girls split with Circle with game 2 going to 9 innings. Cats fall to the Andale Indians.

The Mulvane High School softball team had two away doubleheaders last week, the first was in Circle on Monday and the second was at Andale on Thursday. The Wildcats league games at Circle started off rough for the Cats in game 1 as the Thunderbirds won 15-2. Addison Mackey pitched for Mulvane and tossed 4 innings, giving up 15 runs, 11 hits, walking 6, and 2 strikeouts.

Makaylen Warner went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits. Madison Phipps, and Addison Mackey each collected hits in the game for the Cats. Mulvane had 1 RBI in the game as Makaylen Warner knocked in 1 runner to lead the Wildcats in RBIs.

Game two was where things got interesting. The Wildcats found themselves down again but by only 1 run after 4 innings. The Wildcats added 3 runs in the 5th inning to take a 4-1 lead, but the Thunderbirds tied it up with 2 runs of their own. The Game went into extra innings and in the top of the 9th,  Regan Witt got on base with a single, Blake Ferraro pinch runs for Regan and stole 2nd base, and Jaryn Baker knocked in Blake with a double! The Wildcats were able to hold on for the 5-4 win.

Sophie Bruce earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. She tossed 8 and 2/3 innings, giving up 4 runs, 7 hits, walking 7, and 4 strikeouts. Addison Mackey came in and pitched to 1 batter in the bottom of the 9th and forced a pop-up for the Wildcats 3rd out.

Jaryn Baker went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Cats in hits. Avrie Warner, Makaylen Warner, Madison Phipps, Addison Mackey, Regan Witt, and Olivia Ellis each had hits in the game for Mulvane.

The Wildcats collected 5 RBIs in the game. Madison Phipps knocked in 2 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs. Avrie Warner, Jaryn Baker, and Regan Witt each also had RBIs for Mulvane.

The Mulvane Wildcats stole 1 base during the game with Blake Ferraro grabbing the only stolen base in the 9th inning.

The Cats traveled to Andale for a non-league matchup against the Indians on Thursday. The Wildcats fell in game 1 with a score of 5-12. Addison Mackey pitched for the Wildcats and tossed 6 innings, giving up 12 runs, 11 hits, walking 4, and 5 strikeouts.

Jaryn Baker, Reece Lazier, Olivia Ellis, Addison Mackey, Blake Ferraro, and Madison Phipps all had 1 hit each for the Wildcats. Jaryn Baker hit her first home of the season in the game.

The Mulvane Wildcats finished with 5 RBIs in the game. Jaryn Baker, Reece Lazier, Blake Ferraro, Madison Phipps, and Makaylen Warner all had 1 RBI each in the ballgame.

The Cats collected 4 RBIs in the game. Addison Mackey knocked in 2 runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs. Madison Phipps and Kinley Kendrick both had 1 RBI each for Mulvane.
