The Mulvane Middle School Track & Field team traveled to Ark City for the Ark City Quad on Monday, April 8th, and the Wildcats came home with 3 first-place finishes, 3 second-place finishes, and 3 third-place finishes. Tavion Richardson grabbed the gold in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.40. Tavion Richardson grabbed the gold in the long jump with a distance of 19-4. Tavion notched his name in the MMS record books with his long jump, topping the school record of 19 feet 3 inches set by Michael Mason in 2010. Haylynn Jones finished on top in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.72.
Keaton Grizzle finished in 2nd place in the long jump with a distance of 16-8. Peyton Fenn finished in 2nd place in the discus with a distance of 88-1. Keileigh Burke grabbed the silver in the high jump with a height of 4-8.
Brock Garnica finished in 3rd place in the shot put with a distance of 40-5. Peyton Fenn grabbed the bronze in the shot put with a distance of 30-10. Sophia Comer grabbed the bronze in the high jump with a height of 4-0.
Note: This meet was cut short due to bees and will be made up at a later date.

The Mulvane Middle School Track & Field team traveled to Wellington for the Wellington Invitational on Thursday, April 11th, and the Wildcats came home with 7 first-place finishes, 4 second-place finishes, and 3 third-place finishes. Robbie Rico grabbed the gold in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:52.35. Tavion Richardson grabbed the gold in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.58. Tavion Richardson finished on top in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 28.29. Brittani Peschel finished on top in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:08.56. Haylynn Jones finished on top in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.60. Haylynn got her name in the school record books with her 100-meter hurdles time, edging out the school record of 16.64 set by Taylor Hatfield in 2008. Haylynn Jones finished in 1st place in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 30.80. Haylynn Jones, Peyton Bartel, Emily Franklin, and Brittani Peschel grabbed the gold in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:39.76.
Tavion Richardson grabbed the silver in the long jump with a distance of 18-6.75. Peyton Fenn finished in 2nd place in the shot put with a distance of 32-3.5. Kaitlyn Paul grabbed the silver in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:42.32. Gracie Warner, Addilyn Williams, Maddy Murray, and Haylynn Jones finished in 2nd place in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 2:05.22.
Howard Dine finished in 3rd place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.14. Kyler Dieker, Robbie Rico, Tysen Rhodes, and Howard Dine grabbed the bronze in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:14.28. Kaitlyn Paul finished in 3rd place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:44.99.
