The Mulvane baseball team hosts Buhler for their first home doubleheader. Split with the Crusaders.

The Mulvane baseball team had one doubleheader this past week as they hosted their first home games against Buhler. The Wildcats took game one with a 7-0 win over the Crusaders. Parker Clubb had a phenomenal game on the mound and earned the win for the Cats. He tossed 7 innings, giving up 0 runs, 1 hit, walking 3, and 15 strikeouts (just 4 shy of the school record).
The Cats as a team had 9 hits in the game. Garrett Olson, Reed Hackleman, and Manny Myers all had 2 hits to lead the Cats. Parker Clubb, Grey Sanders, and Lucas Sorensen also had hits in the game for the Wildcats and Lucas Sorensen had his first home run of the season in the game.
The Cats racked up 7 RBIs in the game. Reed Hackleman knocked in 3 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs. Parker Clubb and Lucas Sorensen also had RBIs for the Wildcats.

In the nightcap, The Crusaders jumped out ahead in the first inning and were able to maintain the lead and the Cats fell 3-7. Nolan Fevurly toed the mound for the Wildcats. He tossed 4 innings, giving up 2 runs, 3 hits, walking 1, and 7 strikeouts. Grey Sanders came in for relief and tossed 2 innings, giving up 5 runs, 3 hits, walking 2, and 4 strikeouts. Manny Myers also pitched for the Wildcats. He tossed 1 inning, giving up 0 runs, 0 hits, walking 2, and 3 strikeouts.
The Wildcats as a team grabbed 4 hits in the game. Nolan Fevurly went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits. Lucas Sorensen and Manny Myers also had hits in the game for the Wildcats. Nolan Fevurly got his first home run of the season in the game.
The Wildcats finished with 3 RBIs in the game. Nolan Fevurly knocked in 2 runners and Lucas Sorensen had 1 RBI for the Cats.

The varsity team is sitting at 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in league play. The JV boys are 3-0 so far this season. Wildcats will be back on the field on Monday, April 1st as they host a doubleheader against El Dorado.
