The Mulvane high school girls soccer team made the long trip to Topeka for the 4-1A regional game on Monday and the girls fell to Topeka Hayden 0-4, which closed out the season for the Wildcats. Madison Shaw guarded the Wildcats net and finished the game with 16 saves with 20 shots on goal.

The varsity girls finished their 2023-24 season with a record of 5-12 and 4-5 in AVCTL League play. The girls were led by junior Jade Smallwood who finished the season with 15 goals and 3 assists for 33 total points and 1.9 points per game. Junior Kierra Cain finished with 4 goals on the year and 1 assist for 9 points. Senior Teagan Garrison finished with 3 goals and 1 assist for 7 points. Junior Mackenzie Christian finished with 2 goals for 4 points.
Rounding out the scoring for the Wildcats were seniors Ashlyn Alumbaugh, Nora Garaikoetxea, and Romy Stemmer who all had 1 goal each. Sophomore Grace Carpenter finished with 3 assists on the year, sophomore Makenzie Rogers had 2 assists, and junior Mallory Ramos finished with 1 assist. Senior Madison Shaw guarded the Wildcats net this year (her first year at goalkeeper) and did a great job for the Wildcats. She finished the year with 144 saves and 48 goals against for a 75% save percentage.
The Wildcats will graduate 5 seniors from the team this year: Ashlyn Alumbaugh, Teagan Garrison, Elizabeth Blankenship, Nora Garaikoetxea, and Romy Stemmer. The Wildcats will potentially have 8 juniors 12 sophomores, and 5 freshmen that will be returning next season.
