The Mulvane women's soccer team continued their success this season last Thursday, May 19th as they hosted Rose Hill for the regional tournament championship, defeating the Rockets 3-1. The game was a defensive battle in the first half but the Cats were able to get one in the net as junior Karlie Kanaga took a perfect pass from junior Emma Hoffman and shot it past the Rocket goalie.

Kanaga found the net again in the second half with an assist from Senior Emma Kolbe to give the Cats an insurance goal, but the Rockets found the net with a perfect header from a corner kick, bringing the score to 2-1. Emma Kolbe sealed the game for the Wildcats with a perfectly placed free-kick after a foul and the Cats held on for the 3-1 win, celebrating their back-to-back regional championship.

The Wildcat defense did a great job keeping the shots on goal at a minimum and goalie Rylie Schiffelbein finished with 10 saves on 11 shots on goal.
