The girls soccer team faced the cold and wind but came out on top of Trinity and Augusta.

The girl's soccer team hosted 2 teams this week at home, a previously unscheduled game on Wednesday against Trinity Academy and the Augusta Orioles on Friday, one non-league and one league game. The girls battled through the wind and cold and the varsity won both games to move to 3-1 and JV split on the week to move to 2-2 on the season.

The women's varsity team knocked in 3 quick goals against Augusta and finished the half with 5. The Wildcats added 2 more goals in the second half for the 7-0 win. The Wildcats were led by Emma Kolbe who finished with 4 goals and 2 assists, Karlie Kanaga added 2 goals and 2 assists, and Emma Hoffman added 1 goal and 1 assist.

The Wildcat defense was very solid and only allowed 2 shots on goal the entire game. Rylie Schiffelbein guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 2 saves with 2 shots on goal.

The women's JV team defeated Augusta 2-0 and the Wildcat goals were scored by Kasey Dillon and Haylie Comstock. Katelyn Wyant guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 7 saves with 14 shots on goal.

The women's varsity team defeated Trinity 3-2 in a cold and windy game on Wednesday. The Knights had the wind in the first half and took advantage with a couple of goals, but the Cats had the wind in the second half and were able to take the 3-2 win. The Wildcats were led by Karlie Kanaga who finished with 2 goals Emma Kolbe added a goal and had 2 assists.

Rylie Schiffelbein guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 8 saves with 10 shots on goal.

The women's JV team fell to Trinity 0-2 and had trouble keeping the ball on the offensive side of the field. Katelyn Wyant guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 12 saves with 14 shots on goal.

The Cats will be back in action on Tuesday in an away game versus Wichita Collegiate, JV starting at 5:00 PM and varsity at 6:30 PM.

Note: This article was edited on 4/13/2022 to correct an error the Augusta game was not a league game. AVCTL D3 and D4 are combined into one league for soccer.
