The soccer girls get wins over Winfield and El Dorado last week, fall to McPherson in first loss of season.

It was another busy and grueling week for the Mulvane girls soccer team as they played 3 games in one week again, traveling to Winfield, hosting a very tough McPherson team, and traveling to El Dorado. The Wildcats came out on top in 2 of the 3 games and are sitting at 8-1 on the season.

The girls traveled to Winfield on Monday, April 19th, and defeated Winfield 6-0. The Wildcats were led by Emma Kolbe who finished with 4 goals and 0 assists for 8 points.

Rylie Schiffelbein guarded the Wildcats net and finished the game with 5 saves with 5 shots on goal.

The girls hosted the McPherson Bullpups on Tuesday, April 20th, and fell 0-10 for the Wildcat's first loss of the season. 

Rylie Schiffelbein guarded the Wildcats net and finished the game with 13 saves with 23 shots on goal.

The Wildcat's third game of the week was at El Dorado on Thursday, April 22nd, and the Cats came home with an 11-0 win to moved to 8-1 for the season. The Wildcats were led by Emma Kolbe who finished with 3 goals and 2 assists for 8 points.

Rylie Schiffelbein guarded the Wildcats net and finished the game with 0 saves with 0 shots on goal as the defense did not allow one shot on goal.

The JV girls participated in the Wichita Northwest tournament over the weekend. The girls played 3 games, one on Friday and two on Saturday. The girls fell to Dodge City 1-5 on Friday with Ashlyn Alumbaugh with the Wildcat's lone goal and Katelyn Wyant finished with 8 saves with 13 shots on goal. On Saturday, the girls fell to Collegiate 2-5 with Kasey Dillon and Teagan Garrison with the Wildcat goals and Wyant with 9 saves with 14 shots on goal. The Cats grabbed a 6-0 win in their last game over Wichita Southeast with Dillon with 3 goals, Garrison with 1 goal, Delaney Wright with 1 goal, and Wyant with 5 saves.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Monday, April 26th as they host the Winfield Vikings at Lyle Couch Stadium. There will be no JV game and varsity will start at 6:00 PM.
