MHS - Women's Soccer / April 8, 2023 By Kasey McDowell
The Mulvane high school girls soccer team had 2 games this past week, both on the road at Winfield and at the Stryker Complex against Wichita Classical. The Wildcats faced the Vikings on Tuesday and the Cats jumped out to a 3-0 lead at halftime behind goals from Kierra Cain, Jade Smallwood, and Emma Hoffman. The Cats had the wind to their back in the second half and dropped in 4 more goals, 2 more by both Smallwood and Hoffman.
The Wildcats defense had another great game and only allowed 6 shots on goal and goalie Rylie Schiffelbein finished with 6 saves.

The JV girls lost 2-3 to Winfield but scored their first 2 goals of the season as Katelyn Wyant and Elizabeth Blankenship found the back of the net for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats traveled to the Stryker Complex for a matchup against Wichita Classical on Thursday and fell 0-1. "Ladies played well and we continue to progress," said Coach Myers. "We had the most shots on goal this season, we just didn't find the back of the net. Makenzie Rogers and Mallory Ramos are making big gains as they step into one of our forward spots."
The Wildcat defense played a great game, only allowing 2 shots on goal, one of them was at that perfect spot that was unreachable for goalie Rylie Schiffelbein who finished with 1 save with 2 shots on goal.
