The Mulvane High School wrestling teams have wrapped up their regular seasons and finished the regional tournaments and the Cats will be taking 6 wrestlers to state this year in Salina. The State Tournament will look a bit different this year as they will be combining the girls and boys tournaments as well as having the boys 3-1A tournament all on the same days next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The Mulvane girls had their regional last weekend at McPherson and junior Leiannah Landreth grabbed the top spot on the podium in the 120 lb bracket, winning 3 matches by fall and the championship match by tech fall. This is Landreth's third time as regional champion. Senior Loren Gonzalez finished in 2nd place in the 170 lb bracket with 2 wins by fall and earned her 3rd trip to state. Sophomore Mackenzie Rogers stamped her trip to state with a 4th place finish in the 145 lb weight class with 3 wins by fall. This is Mackenzie's first trip to state. The girls as a team finished in 11th place at their regional with 63.5 points.

The Mulvane boys had their regional yesterday at Andale and junior Koehn Dietrich finished in 2nd place in the 113 lb weight class and earned his second trip to state. Dietrich had 1 win by fall and 1 win by decision. Senior Noah West earned a trip to state with a 3rd place finish in the 190 lb weight class. Noah won 3 matches by fall. Senior Austin Vanderhoof also earned a trip to state in the 215 lb weight class as he finished in 3rd place with 3 wins by fall and 1 win by decision.
