The 2023-24 Winter Homecoming week is here and the candidates announced.

The 2023-24 winter homecoming week is upon us and the candidates for this year have been announced. The first queen candidate is Miss Ashlyn Alumbaugh. Ashlyn is the daughter of James and Nicole Alambaugh. As a student at MHS, Ashlyn has participated in KAY, student council, SADD, rowdie crowd council, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and National Honor Society. Ashlyn is being escorted by king candidate, Mr. Kaiden Abasolo. Kaiden is the son of Mike and Amanda Abasolo.  Kaiden’s activities include football, basketball, and baseball.
 
The second queen candidate is Miss Mariah Cowin. Mariah’s parents are Dave and Vicky Cowin. Mariah has been involved in student council, cheerleading, and SADD. Escorting Mariah is Mr. Colton Fleming, the second king candidate. Colton’s parents are Dusty and Krystal Fleming. Colton has been involved in FFA and soccer. 
 
The third queen candidate is Miss Teagan Garrison. Teagan is the daughter of Darren and Kendra Garrison. Teagan’s activities at Mulvane High School have been rowdie crowd council, student council, FFA, volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Teagan’s escort is Mr. Gavin Wayman. Gavin’s parents are Samantha Myers and Gordon Wayman.  Gavin’s activities include football, basketball, and baseball.
 
The fourth and final queen candidate is Miss Loren Gonzalez. Loren’s parents are Paul and Joey Gonzalez.  As a student at MHS, Loren has participated in track and field, wrestling, National Honor Society, Drumline, and jazz band.  Loren is being escorted by Mr. Will Perkins, the final king candidate. Will is the son of Brent and Heidi Perkins  Will has been involved in soccer, vice president of FFA, K-Cat, and National Honor Society.

The attendants are Rebecca Beadle and Jude Bernal. Rebecca is the daughter of Ryan and Josey Beadle. Josey was a 2006 graduate of MHS. Rebecca is also the niece of Kasey McDowell. Kasey does IT for MHS and communications for USD 263. Jude is the son of Jesse and Janee (JUH-nay) Bernal. Jesse is the journalism adviser at MHS.

The MHS Homecoming themes this week are:
* Monday - PJ Day
* Tuesday - Mom vs. Dad
* Wednesday - Pink/Red
* Thursday - Sports
* Friday - Green/White

The homecoming game will be this Friday, January 12th as the Wildcats take on McPherson.
