The men's basketball team falls in game 1 of sub-state, closing out their 2022-23 season.

The Mulvane men's basketball team wrapped up their 2022-23 season on Tuesday as they made the long trip to Pratt for the first game of sub-state and the Cats fell 40-56 to the Greenbacks. A tale of two halves for the Wildcats as they scored 11 points in the first half and 29 in the second half to Pratt's 22 in the first and 33 points in the second half. Kaiden Abasolo led the Wildcats with 23 points on the evening and also on the boards with 12 rebounds.

The Wildcats finished the season with a 7-14 record and 3-7 in league play and finished in 5th place in the AVCTL Division 3 standings. Junior Aiden McKee led the Cats with 317 points this year and finished with 96 rebounds and a team-high 53 assists and team-high 38 steals. Junior Kaiden Abasolo finished with 268 points and a team-high 105 rebounds, and freshman Manny Myers finished with 125 points and 48 rebounds.

Senior Easton Groth notched the school record board twice this year with a game-high record 7 charges taken against Parsons on December 10th and also finished the season with 21 charges taken to beat out Sheldon Higgins with 20 in the 2010-11 season.

The Cats will graduate 4 seniors this year, Jax Gerber, Julien Myers, Easton Groth, and Logan Harness.
