The 8A team continues perfect season after double OT thriller with Ark City. MMS Wrap Up regular season next week.

The Mulvane middle school boy's basketball teams wrapped up their last full week of ball games last week going 6-2 against Ark City and Winfield. The Cats will wrap up their season next Monday at home versus Wellington before the season-ending league tournament the following Saturday.

The 8A team had a shootout with Ark City at home on Thursday that ended in a double-overtime thriller. The Wildcats took a 19-15 lead into halftime and Ark City was able to tie the game up after 3 quarters. The Cats were ahead by 3 with just a few seconds left and Ark City drained a last-second 3-pointer to force overtime. The teams remained tied after the first OT and the Cats were able to pull out the 51-47 win in the second overtime. Hudson Myers led the boys with 16 points on the evening and Braylon Barnes and Hays Ensley broke into double digits with 13 and 12 points respectively.

It was a hard-fought game between both teams as the 8B team faced Ark City and the Wildcats came out on top 34-32. The Cats took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 20-18. It was neck and neck in the second half as the Wildcats and Ark City both scored 14 points, but the Wildcats got the 34-32 win. Drew Miller led the Cats with 9 points in the contest.

The 7A boys had a tough 5-16 first quarter and were down 11-24 at halftime. The Cats were unable to catch up with Ark City in the second half, falling 30-51. Parker Kraft led the boys with 15 points in the game.

The 7B boys jumped out ahead 8-2 in the first quarter and took a 14-8 lead into halftime. The Cats were able to hang on for the 31-22 win. Jaxon Morris led the Wildcats with 9 points on the evening.

The Cats traveled to Winfield on Tuesday and the 8A team jumped out ahead in the first half with a 35-11 lead at halftime. Winfield held the boys at bay in the second half, but the boys were able to come out with the win with a final score of 47-36. Hudson Myers led the Cats with 11 points and Braylon Barnes and Hays Ensley finished with 10 points each. Grady Myers finished with 9 points in the game.

The 8B team took care of business as they kept Winfield at bay all game long. The boys took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 29-4. The boys closed out the second half of the game by outscoring Winfield 12-9 and got the win 41-13. Ethan Hankins led the Wildcats with 8 points on the evening.

The 7A boys fell behind in the first half 11-30 and couldn't make up the difference in the second half, falling 29-54. Parker Kraft led the Cats with 11 points in the contest.

The 7B team had an overtime shootout with Winfield and the Cats were able to grab the win 39-35. The Cats took a 16-10 lead into halftime but Winfield took a 2-point lead after the 3rd quarter. The Cats tied the game up in the 4th quarter and outscored Winfield in OT 10-6. Jaxon Morris led the Wildcats with 12 points on the evening and Parker Slayton finished with 9 points.
