The 8A boys remain undefeated as the Wildcats go 5-3 against the Rockets and Indians.

The Mulvane Middle School boys basketball teams traveled to Clearwater last Thursday for their second matchup against the Indians of the season. The 8A team took care of business as they kept Clearwater at bay all game long. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first half with a 22-7 lead. The Wildcats kept the pressure up in the second half, outscoring Clearwater 31-12 for the 53-19 win. Hays Ensley and Hudson Myers both broke into double digits with 15 and 14 points in the game.

The 7A team had a shootout with Clearwater as they were neck and neck for most of the ball game but fell just short. The Cats took the 7-5 lead in the first quarter. The boys were outscored in the second quarter and were behind at halftime 16-17. The 3rd quarter was the tough one for the Cats, falling behind by 6 points. The Wildcats lost the fourth quarter and fell 29-36 to Clearwater. Parker Kraft led the Wildcats with 9 points on the evening.

The 8B team had no trouble against Clearwater as they won the game 28-6. The Cats defense blanked the Indians in the first half, going into halftime up 11-0. The Cats won the second half and got the 28-6 win. Colter Light led the Wildcats with 8 points on the evening.

The 7B team defense also had a great game, holding Clearwater to just 4 points in the game. The Cats took a 26-2 lead into halftime and finished strong with a 39-4 win. Wyatt Ryherd and Jaxon Morris led the Wildcats with 8 points each in the contest.

The Cats hosted the Rose Hill Rockets last Monday for a league matchup against the Rockets. The 7A boys had a tough first half, going into halftime down 13-20. The Wildcats made some halftime adjustments and made a great comeback in the second half, outscoring Rose Hill 27-13 and getting the 40-33 win. Parker Kraft led the boys with 19 points on the evening and Kane Cuthbertson had a great game with 14 points.

The 8A team took care of business as they kept Rose Hill at bay all game long. The boys took the 12-6 lead in the first quarter. The Cats outscored Rose Hill in the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 25-11. The Wildcats won the third quarter and went into the fourth up 43-21. The Cats lost the fourth quarter by 1 point but held on for the 46-25 win. Braylon Barnes was on fire for the Wildcats and finished with 20 points on the evening. Hays Ensley broke into double digits with 11 points.

The 7B team had a close game with Rose Hill and went into halftime up 8-7, but the second half went to Rose Hill and the Cats fell 21-25. Kyler Dieker and Wyatt Ryherd led the boys with 6 points each in the game.

The 8B had trouble getting points to fall against Rose Hill as they fell 25-37. The Wildcats fell behind in the first half 7-17 and were unable to make up the difference in the second half, falling 25-37. Ethan Hankins led the boys with 11 points in the contest.

The 8A team is still undefeated on the season at 10-0 (8-0 in league) and the 8B team is sitting at 9-1 (7-1 in league play). The 7A boys are sitting at 3-7 (3-5 in league play) and the 7B team is at 6-4 (5-3 in league play). The Cats will be winding down their season in the next couple of weeks and will be facing Winfield and Ark City next week.
