The girls wrestling finishes in 2nd place at Heights tournament. Kammie Schanz gets 100th career win.

The Mulvane women's varsity wrestling team traveled to Wichita Heights for a tournament with some bigger schools as the Wellington tournament turned into a JV only tournament. The Wildcats did a great job against the larger schools and took 2nd place in the tournament with 108.5 points behind Hutchinson's 111 points.

Sophomore Leiannah Landreth took the gold in the 115 lb weight class and remains undefeated for the season with a win by tech fall and a win by fall. Senior Kammie Schanz also took the gold in the 145 lb weight class with 5 wins by fall and also remains undefeated on the season as well. Every girl that wrestled for the Cats medaled as Larissa Gonzalez finished in 2nd place in the 125 lb weight class, Kasey Dillon finished in 2nd place in the 135 lb weight class, Loren Gonzalez finished in 2nd place in the 170 lb weight class, and Jericka Stiles finished in 3rd place in the 130 lb weight class.

Senior Kammie Schanz also recorded her 100th win for the Wildcats in her wrestling career this past Saturday. Kammie finished her freshman season with a 2nd place win at state, was state champion her sophomore year, finished in 5th place at state her junior year after battling injuries all season. Kammie is having a phenominal senior season so far and has solidified herself in Mulvane school history as the first ever womens wrestling state champion and first to reach the 100 win milestone.
