Abasolo and McKee earn All-Tournament team as the Cats finish 3rd in tournament.

The Mulvane men's basketball team made three long trips to Chaparral this past week for the annual Roadrunner Classic tournament. The Wildcats faced the Chaparral Roadrunners in the first game of the tournament on Wednesday, January 18th. The Cats and Roadrunners were back and forth all game long and the Cats went into halftime up 28-24. The teams were even in the third quarter and the Runners tried to make a run in the 4th, but the Wildcats were able to hang on for the 54-51 win. Kaiden Abasolo led the Wildcats with 29 points and 8 rebounds in the game. Aiden McKee and Manny Myers also broke into double digits with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Mulvane faced the Circle Thunderbirds in the second game of the tournament and the Birds were ahead of the Cats the entire game, going into halftime up 22-14 and had 36-27 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Cats mounted a nice comeback after being down 11 points with just a few minutes left, but fell just short 45-48. Kaiden Abasolo led the Wildcats with 19 points on the evening and Aiden McKee finished with 13 points. Abasolo, McKee, and Myers led the Cats on the boards with 4 rebounds each.

The Wildcats earned a spot in the 3rd place game against Reno County on Saturday and the Cats jumped out to a 17-10 lead and carried that lead into halftime up 42-34. The Cats ouscored Reno County 31-20 in the second half and grabbed the 3rd place trophy with a 73-54 win. Kaiden Abasolo led the Wildcats with 24 points in the game and Aiden McKee and Shannon Fuller finished with 18 and 10 points respectively. McKee led the Cats in rebounds with 5.

Junior Aiden McKee and Junior Kaiden Abasolo were selected to the Roadrunner Classic All-Tournament team. McKee averaged 14.3 points per game and Abasolo averaged 24.0 points per game in the tournament.
