The Mulvane Middle School Cross Country team had their final meet of the 2022-23 season at the Patriot League meet at Ark City on Tuesday, October 11th. The 8th grade boys brought home the league championship with some great times and great finishes. Ethan Hankins took the top spot in the 2 mile run with a 12:05.2. Cole Zimmerman was close behind and finished in 2nd place with a time of 12:07.9. Ethan and Cole finished over 50 seconds before the 3rd place runner crossed the finish line. Kyle Caruthers finished in 8th place with a time of 14:02.6. These three boys earned All-Patriot League honors for a top-10 finish.
The 8th-grade girls finished in 3rd place as a team and had 3 runners earn All-Patriot League honors. Isabella Landwehr finished in 7th place with a time of 16:21.9, Abby DeWitt finished in 9th place with a time of 16:50.6, and Anica Baerg finished in 10th place with a time of 18:31.2.
The 7th-grade boys finished in 3rd place as a team and had 2 runners earn All-Patriot League honors. Wyatt Ryherd finished in 3rd place with a time of 6:05.8 in the 1-mile run and Colby Billingslea finished in 8th place with a time of 6:36.1.
The 7th-grade girls finished in 3rd place as a team and had 3 runners earn All-Patriot League honors. Peyton Bartel finished in 7th place with a time of 7:15.5 in the 1-mile run, Penelope Abrams finished in 8th place with a time of 7:23.4, and Kaitlyn Paul finished in 9th place with a time of 7:23.7.
