MHS - Men's Soccer / October 4, 2022 By Kasey McDowell

The Men's soccer team extended their win streak to 4 in a row this week as they hosted McPherson on Tuesday, October 4th. The Cats' three previous wins were over Elyria Christian, El Dorado, and Circle. The Wildcats broke open the scoring with one goal in the first half by senior Ben Thorson, assisted by Aiden McKee. Junior Kierran Hoffman found the back of the net late in the second half to tie the score up 2-2. Thorson got the go-ahead goal with less than one minute on the clock with an assist by Hoffman to secure the Wildcat victory. Alex Dial guarded the Wildcat net and finished the game with 8 saves with 10 shots on goal.

"I promise I am not exaggerating when I say I could list all the starters plus subs - Will Perkins and Jax Gerber as huge players of the game," said Coach Jesse Myers.  "It was amazing! I've said it before...I'm always very proud of the kids when they keep battling the entire match - regardless of how things are going. However, it's nice when that battling results in a W."
