The Varsity and JV volleyball teams made the long trip to Buhler on Tuesday, September 3rd for a triangular with Buhler and Winfield. The Wildcats had a great night and swept both teams in the varsity and JV games on the evening. The varsity defeated Winfield 2-0 to kick off the night with a close first game 29-27 and a more comfortable 25-16 win in the second game. The girls went to three games against Buhler, but came home with the 2-1 win (16-25, 25-20, 25-19) for the sweep. The varsity girls are sitting at 7-10 on the season and 2-2 in league play.
Emily Schmidt (Sr.) and Madi Cunningham (So.) led the Cats in kills with 17 and 16 respectively. Karlie Kanaga (Sr.) led the team with 4 aces in the two matches and also with 18 digs. Madi and Emily also had a good night in the digs department with 16 for Madi and 13 for Emily. Makenna Treat led the team with 3 blocks and Charli Richardson (Fr.) and Ashlyn Alumbaugh (Jr.) had solid nights with 27 and 25 assists for the setters.

The JV girls also had a great night on the court, winning both games in fine fashion. The girls faced Winfield first and took the first game 25-18 and the second game 25-13. The girls held Buhler at bay as well with a 25-17 win and 25-15 win for the sweep. The JV girls are sitting at 8-3 on the season.

The C-Team girls hosted a quad at Mulvane on Thursday, September 16th with Augusta, Wellington, and Clearwater. The Wildcats faced Augusta first and had some trouble against the Orioles servers as the Cats fell 0-2 (19-25 & 15-25). The girls rebounded nicely and defeated Wellington 2-0 in a couple of intense games (25-21 & 28-26). The girls faced Clearwater in the nightcap and had no trouble with the Indians as they won 2-0 (25-18 & 25-12). The C-team girls are sitting at 8-1 on the season.

The varsity girls will be back in action on Tuesday, September 20th with their first home triangular against McPherson and Augusta, starting at 5:00 PM. The JV girls will be in action on Saturday, September 17th at the Andover tournament, starting at 8:00 AM. The C-team girls will be back in action as well on Saturday at the Garden Plain tournament, starting at 9:00 AM.
