The MHS and MMS Cross Country teams bring home 18 medals from the Wellington Invitational.

The Mulvane High School and Middle School Cross Country teams traveled to the Hargis Creek Watershed on Saturday, September 10th for the Wellington Invitational. The high school came home with 6 individual medals and the middle school came home with 12 individual medals.

The Varsity girls were led by sophomore Leiannah Landreth who finished in 23rd place with a time of 25:15.55. Just behind Landreth was freshman Mackenzie Allen in 25th place with a time of 25:32.68, and rounding out the varsity girls medalists was junior Anna Stahl in 30th place with a time of 26:11.62. The varsity girls finished in 5th place as a team.

The Varsity boy's two medalists were the Wilson brothers, led by sophomore Jacob Wilson who finished in 20th place with a time of 19:24.14, followed by freshman Johnathan Wilson in 24th place with a time of 19:34.24. The varsity boys finished in 8th place as a team.

In the JV 2-mile race, sophomore Kaden Palmer grabbed a medal with a 7th-place finish with a time of 13:39.58.

The 8th-grade girls had three medalists in the 1.5-mile run with Isabella Landwehr leading the Cats and finishing in 20th place with a time of 11:10.08. Abby Dewitt finished in 24th place with a time of 11:55.84 and Maci Pfannenstiel finished in 30th place with a time of 12:51.11. The 8th-grade girls finished in 8th place as a team.

The 8th-grade boys finished with two medalists in the 1.5-mile run with Ethan Hankins grabbing the silver with a time of 8:38.52 and Cole Zimmerman close behind with the bronze with a time of 8:47.02. The 8th-graders finished in 3rd place as a team.

The 7th-grade girls had four medalists in the 1-mile race with Kaitlyn Paul leading the Wildcats with an 11th-place finish with a time of 7:10.27. Peyton Bartel finished in 22nd place with a time of 7:41.40, Penelope Abrams finished in 33rd place with a time of 8:03.30, and Gloria Westhoff finished in 38th place with a time of 8:10.93. The 7th-grade girls finished in 6th place as a team.

The 7th-grade boys finished with three medalists in the 1-mile run with Wyatt Ryherd leading the Cats with a 9th place finish with a time of 6:15.21. Colby Billingslead finished in 28th place with a time of 6:48.55, and Benjamin Brown finished in 36th place with a time of 7:00.37. The 7th-grade boys finished in 8th place as a team.
