The 8th grade girls host first triangular of the season, 7th girls travel to Rose Hill in week 2.

The Mulvane Middle School volleyball teams had one triangular this past week with the 8th grade hosting the Haysville West Gorillas and the Rose Hill Rockets and the 7th graders making the trip over to Rose Hill to face the same teams.

The 8A team struggled in the first match against Haysville West as they fell 0-2 (20-25, 13-25) against the Gorillas, but bounced back for the nightcap with a 2-1 win over the Rockets. The Cats took the first game against Rose Hill 25-12 behind a nice run of 12 service points by Megan Richards and Rhyan Parsons serving out the last 2 points. The Rockets took the second game in a thriller 25-27. Rachael Langholz had a nice run of 8 service points in game 2. The Cats dominated in the third game 15-4 for the win with Thai Heersche starting the game with 5 service points to gets the Cats rolling.

The 8B team split on the evening as well as they took down Haysville West 2-0 (25-21, 25-22) but fell 1-2 against Rose Hill in a very tight matchup (25-18, 18-25, 13-15). Mila Imm had a nice run of 8 service points in game 1 and 6 service points in game 2 against Haysville West. Ealen Miller finished with 9 service points against the Gorillas.

The 7A girls won the first match of the evening 2-0 in an exciting matchup against Haysville West (25-21, 25-22). Halle Ensley led the Cats with 11 service points on the evening against the Gorillas. Luci Swart finished with 8 service points in the matchup. The 7B girls defeated the Gorillas 2-0 (25-19, 25-16) behind 16 service points by Gracie Warner. The 7A girls fell to Rose Hill in the nightcap 1-2 (25-21, 21-25, 8-15) and the 7B girls rounded out their evening with a win over the Rockets 2-1 (17-25, 25-15, 15-11).

The 8A, 8B, and 7A teams are all sitting at 2-2 on the season and the 7B girls are sitting at 3-1. The teams will be back on the court on Monday, September 12th with the 7th grade girls at home and the 8th grade girls traveling to Rose Hill.
