The Mulvane Middle School track team had their final meet of the season on Tuesday, May 10 at the Patriot League meet at Clearwater. The 8th-grade boys finished in 2nd place as a team with 125 points. The 8th girls, 7th girls, and 7th boys all finished in 5th place with 36, 35, and 77 points respectively.
The Wildcats had league champions in 9 events with a couple of Wildcats getting multiple golds. Lane Rogers won gold in two 8th grade events, the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.72 and the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:33.32. Hunter Landis won gold in two individual events, the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.84 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.39.
Blake Ferraro finished in 1st place in the 7th girls 200-meter dash with a time of 29.39. Johnathan Wilson grabbed gold in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:25.76. Cooper Brown finished in 1st place in the 7th boys shot put with a toss of 38 feet 3 inches.
The Wildcats grabbed golds in two relays as the 8th-grade boys (Heckart, Caruthers, Liberto, Landis) finished in the top spot in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:45.43. The 7th-grade boys (Zimmerman, Paul, Ensley, Hankins) finished in 1st place in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:34.40.
