The middle school track teams bring home 6 golds from Clearwater and new school record for 8th boys relay team.

The Mulvane Middle School traveled to Clearwater for a long weather delayed evening of events on Tuesday, April 19th. The 8th grade boys finished in 2nd place as a team with 73 points. The 7th grade girls had the next best finish in 5th place with 35 points, 7th boys in 7th place with 31 points, and the 8th girls in 12th place with 9 points.

The 8th grade boys 4x200 team has been on a tear the last couple of years, this time they bested the 8th grade boys school record 1:43.92 that was set in 2005 (Landis, Roberts, Simon, Tharp). The relay team of Hunter Heckart, Kurtis Caruthers, Lane Rogers, and Hunter Landis notched their names into the record books with a time of 1:43.26, and taking first place in the race of course.

The Wildcats had 6 first place finishes on the day with Blake Ferraro getting the gold in both the 7th grade girls 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 13.51 and 29.42. Cooper Brown got another gold in the 7th grade boys shot put with a throw of 38 feet 2 inches. Hunter Landis dashed his way into first in the 100 meters with a time of 11.87. The 8th boys 4x200 meter relay won gold as discussed above, and the 8th grade boys 1600 meter medley relay team finished in firts place with a time of 4:29.30.
