Freshman Leiannah Landreth (109), junior Jericka Stiles (138), junior Kammie Schanz (155), and sophomore Loren Gonzalez (235) all represented the Cats at the state tournament. The Wildcats as a team finished in 12th place out of 79 teams with 37 points.

Leiannah Landreth went into the tournament with a 31-2 record on the season and won her first match by fall at the 1:35 mark in the 1st period. In her second match, it only took her 56 seconds to pin her opponent to advance to the semifinals. The semifinal match was over in 41 seconds as she pinned her opponent quickly to advance to the championship match. Leiannah had to face Josiah Ortiz of Lakin who was undefeated and gave Leiannah one of her only two losses this season. The final match went all 3 periods and Landreth fell by decision 2-5 and finished in 2nd place at state.

Kammie Schanz, who was the state champion last year, made her third appearance in the state tournament in her high school career. That's where Kammie went to work and won her next 3 matches, one by fall and two by decision, which guaranteed her a state medal. She lost her next match by decision which put her in the 5th/6th place match which she won by pinning her opponent in the second period, earning a 5th place spot on the podium.

Jericka Stiles made her first trip to state this year and had some tough opponents in her bracket. Stiles fell in both her first matches by fall which eliminated her from the tournament, but she had a great season and finished with a 15-10 record on the season.

Loren Gonzalez made her first trip to state in her first year of wrestling which was a great feat, but she fell in her first matches by fall which eliminated her from the tournament, but she had a great first season and finished with a 9-20 record on the season.
