The Mulvane Middle School basketball teams sweep the Clearwater Indians, look forward to the mid-season shootout.

The Mulvane Middle School boys basketball teams were back in action this past Monday, January 31st as they hosted the Clearwater Indians in a Patriot League matchup. The 7A boys continued their dominance and jumped out to a 27-7 lead in the first half and they were able to coast to the 43-19 win in the second half behind a 14 point effort by Hudson Myers. Braylon Barnes broke into double digits as well with 10 points in the game. The 7A boys are sitting at 5-0 on the season and 4-0 in league play.

The 7B team also had no trouble against Clearwater as they won the game 47-10. The Wildcats took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 25-4. Clearwater was not able to hang with the boys in the second half and the boys got the 47-10 win. Drew Miller led the Wildcats with 10 points on the evening. The 7B boys are also sitting at 5-0 on the season and 4-0 in league play.

The 8A team was looking for their second win of the season after some very close games and took care of business as they kept Clearwater at bay all game long. The Cats took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 25-13. The Wildcats closed out the second half of the game by outscoring Clearwater 25-9 and got the win 50-22. Manny Myers led the boys with 21 points on the evening and Parker Clubb dropped in 11 points as well for the Cats. The 8A boys are sitting at 2-3 on the season and 2-2 in league play.

The 8B team found themselves down at halftime 11-14, but were able to claw their way back in the second and got the 31-20 win. The Cats blanked the Indians in the third quarter and outscored them 14-6 in the 4th. Jonathan Wilson led the boys with 13 points on the evening. The 8B boys are sitting at 4-1 on the season and 3-1 in league play.

The teams will be participating in the midseason shootouts this coming Saturday. The 7th grade teams will travel to El Dorado and the 8th grade teams will be hosting the games at the Mulvane Middle School.
