MHS - Men's Soccer / September 17, 2021 By Kasey McDowell
The men's soccer team traveled to Valley Center last Thursday and fell 0-7 to the Hornets and moved to 2-4 for the season. Alex Dial guarded the Wildcats net and finished the game with 17 saves with 24 shots on goal.

The JV team played 20-minute halves and fell 2-3 again the Hornets.

The varsity team faced Ark City in the last game of the Ark City tournament and defeated the Bulldogs 5-0 to end the tournament on a good note. The Wildcats were led by Benjamin Thorson who finished with 3 goals and 0 assists for 6 points. Aiden McKee and Garrett Booe both scored a goal in the game. McKee, Jax Gerber, and Luis Lazaro all had 1 assist each in the game. Alex Dial guarded the Wildcats net and finished the game with 19 saves with 19 shots on goal.

The Cats faced Coffeyville in the opening game of the Ark City tournament on Tuesday, September 7th, and fell 0-5 to the Golden Tornadoes. The Wildcats were led by Alex Dial who finished with 0 goals and 0 assists for 0 points.

The JV team finished up three games in the Wichita Northwest tournament the last couple of days. They faced Wichita Southeast in the first game on Friday at 1:35 and fell 0-7. They turned around and played another game on Friday at 4:45 against Winfield and defeated the Vikings 2-1. They finished up the tournament on Saturday against the Classical School of Wichita and fell 0-5 to bring their record to 2-3 on the season.
The Cats will travel to Winfield on Tuesday, September 21st for JV and Varsity games, starting at 4:30 PM.
