The MHS and MMS cross country teams bring home some hardware from Wellington.

The Mulvane High School and Middle School cross country teams traveled to Wellington on Saturday, September 11th for the Wellington Invitational. The varsity girls came home with 2 medalists in the 5k run as Leiannah Landreth (Fr.) and Kamryn Nolan (Sr.) finished in 12th and 17th place with times of 24:14.05 and 24:54.81 respectively. The varsity boys were led by Jacob Duncan with a time of 22:55.68 for 49th place in the 5k run.

The JV girls were led by Cali Hernandez (So.) with a time of 16:44.40 in the 2 mile run and finished in 9th place for a medal. Delaney Hamm (Sr.) also earned a medal with a time of 17:21.02 and finished in 13th place. Jacob Wilson (Fr.) was the only runner in the JV race and finished in 32nd place with a time of 15:59.84.

The Mulvane Middle School also participated in the meet and brought home some hardware. 8th grader Johnathan Wilson finished in 4th place in the 2400 meter run with a time of 9:05.00 and brought home a medal. Makenzie Allen grabbed a medal in the girls 2400 meter run with a 12:13.52 and 31st place.

Ethan Hankins medaled in the 7th grade boys 1 mile run with a time of 6:11.40 and finished in 4th place. All 7th grade girls medaled in the 1 mile run as Isabella Landwehr finished in 24th place with a time of 7:49.10, Abby Dewitt finihsed in 34th place with a time of 8:16.10, and Maci Pfannenstiel finiished in 39th place with a time of 8:23.30.

The MMS cross country teams will be back in action on Tuesday, September 14th at Lake Afton for the Goddard Invitational, starting at 4:00 PM.

The MHS cross country teams will be back in action next Saturday, September 18th at the Circle Invitational, starting at 10:00 AM.
