MHS - Track & Field / April 18, 2021 By Kasey McDowell

The Mulvane Track team fought through the bad weather and participated in the KT Woodman meet at Cessna Stadium this past Thursday and Friday. Each event in the meet has a minimum qualification time, height, or distance and there are three levels of events, 1A-3A, 4A-6A, and the Elite classification.

Mulvane had two athletes participate in elite events, Campbell Williams (Sr.) in the Women's 800-meter run and Addison Whisler (Jr.) in the women's high jump. Addy finished in 3rd place with a jump of 1.55 meters (5 feet 1 inch), good for an elite medal. Campbell finished in 8th place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:44.40 in the elite group.

There were two other events that the Wildcats medaled in (they only medaled out to 3rd place) and that was the women's 4x800 meter relay and the women's javelin throw. The relay team of Amber Hansen (Jr.), Delaney Hamm (Jr.), Reagan Sparks (So.), and Campbell Williams (Sr.) grabbed 3rd place with a time of 11:02.48 and Bella Larraga (Jr.) finished in 3rd place in the javelin with a throw of 29.65 meters (97 feet 3 inches).
