The 8th-grade boys wrapped up their 2020-21 season this past Saturday as they participated in the Patriot League tournament and the boys fell to Haysville West in a close game that went into overtime. The 8A team finished the season with a 2-10 record (2-8 in league play) and the 8B team finished the season with a 5-6 record (5-5 in league play).
The Cats fell behind in the first half, going into halftime down 13-20. The Wildcats closed out the second half of the game by outscoring Haysville West 17-10 and forced the game into overtime, but were unable to get the win as they fell 30-40. Fisher Dye led the Wildcats with 9 points on the evening.

Fisher Dye led the Wildcats in points this season with 122 for an average of 10.2 points per game.
"I'm really proud of this year's 8th-grade group," said Coach Hargrove. "This group was a fun group to coach that listened and pushed themselves every day at practice. The scoreboard didn't always go our way but this group showed up every day willing to put work in.
Coach Just and I express how important rebounding is and we challenge our players to get over 100 boards for the season which is a tough goal to achieve. We had 2 of our guys that played in the A games only achieve this goal, Aiden Heckathorn with 117 and Fisher Dye with 109. Caven Martin finished the season with 92 and Chance Koester with 74. Our team did a great job on the boards this year. We had over half our team double their rebounding and scoring stats on the back half of the season. This year's group was hardworking, willing to communicate, and a good coachable group."
