The boys basketball team closed out the regular season, end regular season with best record since 1986-87.

The Mulvane men's basketball team wrapped up the regular season this past week as they hosted the Clearwater Indians and the Andale Indians. The Wildcats took care of business against Clearwater but fell to Andale in a close contest. The Wildcats closed out the best season they have had since the 1986-87 season as they finished 15-4 and 6-3 in league play. The JV team finished their season going 7-10 and the C-team finished with an 8-4 record. The Cats will face Clearwater again on Tuesday, March 2nd as they host the Indians in the first game of sub-state with the game starting at 7:00 PM.

The Varsity team faced a tough Andale team and the game came down to just a few points and the Cats fell 48-54. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 12-9 lead. The Wildcats lost the second quarter but were ahead at halftime 19-18. The Cats won the third quarter and went into the fourth up 38-34. The Cats lost the fourth quarter and fell 48-54 to Andale. Trey Abasolo led the Cats with 23 points on the evening and Ian Comer led the Cats in rebounds with 5.

The JV had trouble breaking through the Andale defense in the second and fourth quarters as they fell 31-54. The Wildcats jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 14-5 lead. The boys were outscored in the second quarter and were behind at halftime 16-21. The Wildcats won the third quarter but went into the fourth down 23-26. The Wildcats lost the fourth quarter and fell 31-54 to Andale. Kaiden Abasolo led the boys with 13 points on the evening. The Indians shot 41 free throw attempts to Mulvane's 7.

The C-Team team faced a tough Andale team and the game came down to just a few points and the Wildcats fell 55-59. Andale jumped out ahead of the boys in the first quarter. The Cats outscored Andale in the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 29-21. The Wildcats lost the third quarter but were ahead 44-37 going into the fourth. The Wildcats lost the fourth quarter and the teams tied 51-51 and the game went into overtime. The Indians outscored the Cats 8-4 to secure the win. Gavin Wayman led the Cats with 14 points on the evening.

The Cats outscored Clearwater in the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 32-19. The boys lost the third quarter but were ahead 43-32 going into the fourth. The fourth quarter was even and the boys held on for the 50-39 win. Trey Abasolo led the Wildcats with 26 points on the evening and Mason Ellis led the Cats in rebounds with 6.

The Wildcats lost the fourth quarter and fell 33-39 to Clearwater. Landon Coe and Kaiden Abasolo led the boys with 9 points each on the evening.

The boys lost the third quarter but were ahead 31-16 going into the fourth. The Wildcats lost the fourth quarter but held on for the 35-22 win. Shannon Fuller led the boys with 11 points on the evening.
