The Mulvane basketball teams hit the courts again this week as they traveled to Winfield on Tuesday, February 2nd to take on the Vikings in a non-league matchup.
The Varsity boys and the Vikings were neck-and-neck the entire game until the Wildcats pulled ahead in the fourth quarter for the 65-58 win. The Cats were up 28-23 at halftime and after the third quarter, they were all tied up at 42 each. A 25 point fourth quarter propelled the Wildcats to the 7 point win. Trey Abasolo (Sr.) led the Wildcats with a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Kaiden Abasolo (Fr.) and Ian Comer (Jr.) both also broke into double digits with 14 and 10 points respectively.

The JV boys jumped to a nice lead after a 19-8 second quarter and went into halftime up 32-19. The Cats finished strong for the 60-45 win. Kaiden Abasolo (Fr.) and Maurice Fuller (So.) led the Cats with 9 points each. Landon Coe (Jr.), Tyson Lazier (Jr.), and Sam Westfall (Jr.) all dropped in 8 points each.

The Mulvane boys basketball team hit the courts again last week on Tuesday, January 26th for a make-up game against the Collegiate Spartans. The Wildcats found themselves in foul trouble most of the evening and fell 56-67 for the first loss of the season. Ian Comer (Jr.) and Kaiden Abasolo (Fr.) led the Cats with 14 points each and Ian finished with a double-double with 14 rebounds.

The JV boys jumped out to a quick lead with an 11-4 first quarter and went into halftime up 30-23. The boys held on in the second half for the 51-45 win. Tyson Lazier (Jr.) led the Cats with 9 points in the game.
