The Mulvane men's soccer team wrapped up their season this past Wednesday at Independence as they faced the Bulldogs in the regional game and fell 0-3. Jesse Velotta had 13 saves with 16 shots on goal against the Bulldogs. The Cats had trouble getting a ball into the net on Wednesday and ended their season with a 4-13 record and 3-6 in AVCTL D3/D4 league play.
The Wildcats had wins over El Dorado (4-1 on 8/31/2020), Ark City (3-1 on 9/12/2020), Circle (3-0 on 9/29/2020), and El Dorado (1-0 on 10/13/2020) this season. Freshman Aiden McKee led the Cats in goals scored with 3 and finished with 6 points on the season. Senior Caleb Perkins finished the season with 2 goals scored and 2 assists for 6 points. Senior Chayton Pfannenstiel finished with 2 goals and 1 assist for 5 points. Junior Kelton Boster finished with 2 goals for 4 points. Sophomore Chance Brown finished with 1 goal and 2 assists for 4 points.
Sophomore Jax Gerber, senior Ethan McElravy, and junior Chase Nash all finished with 1 goal for 2 points each. Sophomore Ben Thorson finished with 1 assist for 1 point on the season. Senior goalkeeper Jesse Velotta finished the season with 206 saves and 76 goals against for a 73% save percentage and allowing 5.1 goals per game. Sophomore Alex Dial finished the season with 34 saves and 16 goals against for a 68% save percentage and allowing 4.0 goals per game.
The JV squad finished the season with a 1-8-1 record and a 1-5-0 league record with a win over Winfield and a tie against Berean Academy.
