MHS - Cross Country / October 10, 2020 By Kasey McDowell
The Mulvane Middle School Cross Country team hosted the Mulvane Invitational on Tuesday, October 6th and the Wildcats finished with 4 medalists between the 7th and 8th grade girls and boys teams.
The meet started with an unsanctioned race with the 6th grade Mulvane runners and Ethan Hankins finished the 1 mile race with a 6:57 time. Lexi Rees finished second with a 9:16 time followed by Sophie Bruce with a 9:24 time, Isabelle Colvin finished with a 9:25 time and Maci Pfannenstiel finished with a 9:36 time.
Mulvane's lone runner in the 7th grade girls race was Kalyn Nolan who finished the 1 mile run with a 9:10.24 for 42nd place. The winner of the 7th girls race was the daughter of former Mulvane Wildcat standout runner Tatum Kotsis (2007). The 7th grade boys were led by Jonathan Wilson who finished in 7th place with a 6:09.05, which earned him a medal. 
He was followed by Hunter Heckart with a time of 9:36.40 for 57th place and Jacob Blankenship with a 10:51.30 time for 67th place.
Mulvane's lone runner in the 8th grade girls 1.5 mile race was Leiannah Landreth (Jade Smallwood did not run due to injury) and Leiannah ran a great race and finished in 2nd place with a 10:33.30 time and a medal. 
The 8th grade boys had a couple of medalists with Jacob Wilson finishing in 3rd place with a 8:59.18 time and Carson Trione finishing in 22nd place with a 9:58.68 time. Caiden Trione finished in 41st place with a 10:57.21 and Joseph Cervantes finished in 43rd place with a 11:00.55 time.
