MHS - Volleyball / September 27, 2020 By Kasey McDowell
The Mulvane freshman volleyball team, coached by Kylie Ferrer, travelled to Clearwater on Saturday, September 26th for the Clearwater tournament, and the Wildcats came home with 3rd place medals. The Cats started the day facing the El Dorado Wildcats and the green & white Cats won 2-0 (25-11 and 25-23). Next on their schedule was the Clearwater Indians and the Cats took them down 2-0 (25-23 and 25-11).
The Cats took on some tough teams from Andover, first the Andover Trojans and the Cats lost 0-2 (17-25 and 10-25). They then faced the Andover Central Jaguars and the Cats fell 0-2 (13-25 and 11-25). The girls finished off the tournament against the Circle Thunderbirds and that match was fairly close, going three games but the Wildcats pulled off the win 2-1 (25-20, 19-25, and 15-11).
The girls finished the tournament going 3-2 and finished in 3rd place.

The freshman girls travelled to Andale last Thursday, September 24th, and had a rough night on the court, falling to Andale 0-2 (9-25 and 16-25), Rose Hill 0-2 (26-28 and 15-25), and Circle (20-25, 25-17, and 13-15).
The girls had a good day at Garden Plain High School on Saturday, September 19th as they took on the Conway Springs Cardinals and the Pratt Greenbacks. The girls defeated the Cardinals 2-0 (25-13 and 25-15) and also defeated the Greenbacks 2-1 (25-17, 9-25, and 15-9)
The freshman girls are currently sitting at 7-10 on the season will host Circle, Clearwater, and Rose Hill at Mulvane High School this Thursday, Oct 1st with games starting at 5:00 PM.
