The Mulvane men's basketball team had 3 close games in busy week, defeat Augusta and Buhler.

The Mulvane men's basketball team had a busy week last week with a regularly scheduled game and a couple of make-up games. The Wildcats hosted the Augusta Orioles on Monday and the varsity team had a very close game that came down to just three points but the Wildcats pulled out the victory 38-35. Aiden McKee led the Cats with 14 points on the evening and Manny Myers led the Cats on the boards with 6 rebounds. 

The JV team took care of business in their game, jumping out ahead 13-4 in the first quarter and kept up the pressure all game for the 44-29 win. Dominic Baxter led the boys with 11 points in the game and Canon Lazier broke into double digits with 10 points.

The Fr/So team had great second and third quarters to take a large lead and got the 58-27 win. The Cats had four players score double digits with Braylon Barnes leading the boys with 14 points, Brody Clasen with 12 points, and Jack Entwisle and Hays Ensley with 11 points each.

The Wildcats faced Collegiate on the road on Tuesday and the varsity team had a shootout with the Spartans that came down to overtime and the Wildcats fell just short with a final score of 53-55.  Aiden McKee led the Cats with 20 points and Manny Myers finished with 14 points. McKee and Myers also led the Cats on the boards with 5 rebounds each.

The JV team also had a very close game with the Spartans that came down to just a few points and the Wildcats came out on top 43-39. Brody Clasen led the Cats with 9 points on the evening. The Fr/So fell behind in the first quarter and could not make up the points, falling 33-55. Braylon Barnes led the Wildcats with 9 points in the contest.

The Wildcats made the long trip to Buhler on Thursday for a league matchup with the Crusaders. The varsity team had another close one but the Wildcats were able to hold on with the 46-41 win. Aiden McKee and Manny Myers once again led the Cats with 19 and 15 points respectively. Manny led the Cats on the boards with 5 rebounds.

The JV team had a nail-biter with the Crusaders and the Wildcats got the 45-44 win. Canon Lazier led the Cats with 12 points on the evening. The Fr/So team took care of business and defeated the Crusaders by 11 points with a 48-37 final score. Jack Entwisle led the Wildcats with 14 points on the evening.

The varsity boys are sitting at 10-4 on the season and 3-2 in league play. The JV boys are 8-3 on the year and the fr/so boys are 7-3. The Wildcats will be back in action at home tomorrow as they host Andale for a non-league matchup.
