The Mulvane High School wrestling teams both traveled to Clearwater yesterday for the Clearwater Invitational. The men's team finished in 2nd place with 136 points, just behind Clearwater. Austin Vanderhoof finished on the top spot of the podium in the 215 lb weight class with a win by decision and a win by fall. The Wildcats had 5 more medalists on the day as Koehn Dietrich finished in 2nd place in the 113 lb weight class, Quincy Walker finished in 2nd place in the 120 lb weight class, Gaelin Mason-Schmidt finished in 3rd place in the 175 lb weight class, Hunter Vanderhoof finished in 4th place in the 190 lb weight class, and KJ Schanz finished in 4th place in the 285 lb weight class.

The women's team finished in 7th place with 72 points on the day and Leiannah Landreth remained undefeated on the year and grabbed the gold in the 125 lb weight class with 3 wins by fall. The Wildcats had 3 more medalists on the day as Loren Gonzalez finished in 2nd place in the 170 lb weight class, Elaina Gamble finished in 3rd place in the 140 lb weight class, and Makenzie Rogers finished in 3rd place in the 145 lb weight class. Junior Leiannah Landreth also was voted the Girl's Wrestling Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
