MHS - Men's Soccer / October 24, 2023 By Kasey McDowell
The Mulvane men's soccer team closed out their 2023-24 season last Saturday at sub-state when they faced the #4 seed Wichita Trinity on the road (the Wildcats were the #13 seed in the bracket). The Wildcats fell 0-5 to Trinity, which closed out their 2023-24 season. The varsity boys finished the season with a 4-13 record and 2-5 in AVCTL play. The JV boys finished their season with a 1-12-1 record.
The Wildcats were led by Dominic Liberto who finished the season with 6 goals and 1 assist for 13 points. Senior Aiden McKee finished the season with a team-high 5 assists and had 1 goal. The other Cats that scored were Garrett Booe with 2, Kierran Hoffman with 1, Adrian Gomez with 1, Will Perkins with 1, and Gunner Uhrig with 1. Booe also finished with 1 assist, Hoffman with 2 assists, Cooper Slayton with 1 assist, and Cole Zimmerman with 1 assist. Senior Gavin Young was the Wildcats goalkeeper and finished the season with 134 saves with 190 shots on goal for a 71% save percentage.
Senior Aiden McKee notched himself on the school record board with Assists in a career with 27. Aiden had 9 assists his sophomore year, 13 his junior year, and 5 his senior year. McKee also has the assists in a season record with his 13 assists his junior year.
The Wildcats will graduate 13 seniors this year. Garrett Booe, Canon Lampe, Kyson Schultz, Will Perkins, Kierran Hoffman, Matthew Eggleston, Aiden McKee, Kyler Smith, Layne McDonald, Gavin Young, Chance Nolan, Adrian Gomez, and Colton Fleming.
