The varsity and JV girls go 4-0 at home in a triangular versus Buhler and Winfield.

The Mulvane High School volleyball team had their second home triangular this season last Tuesday, September 12th with Buhler and Winfield coming into town. The Wildcats faced Buhler first in the rotation and won 2-0 (25-22 & 25-21) and handled Augusta in the nightcap as well 2-0 (25-16 & 25-20).

The Cats were led in kills by Makenna Treat with 12 on the evening as well as in blocks with 2. Ashlyn Alumbaugh led the team in assists with 20 and Charli Richardson finished with 14 assists. Teagan Garrison led the team in digs with 18 in the triangular.

The JV girls also had a triangular against Buhler and Winfield last Tuesday. They finished the evening going 2-0 with a 2-0 win over Buhler (25-23 & 25-21) and a 2-0 win over Winfield (25-12 & 25-13).

The Wildcats traveled to Ark City for a tournament on Saturday, September 9th, going 2-2 on the day with a 2-0 win over Goddard (25-23 & 25-23), a 0-2 loss to Andover Central (16-25 & 21-25), a 0-2 loss to Clearwater (15-25 & 24-26), and a 2-0 win over Belle Plaine (25-20 & 25-13).

Makenna Treat led the Cats in kills and blocks in the tournament with 23 kills and 8 blocks. Ashlyn Alumbaugh led the Wildcats in assists with 36 in the tournament and also finished with 22 digs. Madi Cunningham led the cats in digs with 32 on the day.

The varsity team is sitting at 7-7 on the season and 3-1 in league play. The JV girls are sitting at 5-7 on the year and the Fr/So girls are currently 4-8 on the season. The Fr/So girls went to Garden Plain yesterday and went 1-4 on the day, going 0-2 against Garden Plain (12-25 & 11-25), 1-2 against Conway Springs (25-18, 18-25, & 13-15), 2-0 against Pratt (25-22 & 25-17), 0-2 against Cheney (7-25 & 9-25), and 0-2 against Wellington (20-25 & 19-25).

The varsity and JV girls will be back in action this week for a triangular at Augusta on Tuesday and the Fr/So girls will head to McPherson on Thursday for a quad.
