The MHS and MMS Cross Country teams bring home 16 medals from the Wellington Invitational.

The Mulvane High School cross-country team traveled to Wellington Hargis Creek for the Wellington Invitational on Saturday, September 9th. The Wildcats had 6 runners earn a medal in the meet. The medalists for the varsity boys were Ethan Hankins who finished in 11th with a time of 18:48.70, Cole Zimmerman who finished in 19th with a time of 19:31.90, Jonathan Wilson who finished in 22nd with a time of 19:45.60, and Jacob Wilson who finished in 25th with a time of 19:59.80. The medalist for the varsity girls was Isabella Landwehr who finished in 19th with a time of 25:44.00. The medalist for the JV boys was James Inkelaar who finished in 2nd with a time of 13:02.50.

The Middle School teams made the same trip as the MHS team and they came home with 10 medalists. The 8th grade boys had two medalists in the 1.5 mile run with Robbie Rico finishing in 7th place with a time of 9:09.80 and Colby Billingslea finishing in 25th place with a time of 10:20.90. The 8th grade girls finished in 2nd place as a team in the 1.5 mile run and had five medalists. Kaitlyn Paul grabbed 5th place with a time of 10:38.10,  Peyton Bartel finished in 8th place with a time of 11:12.50, Penelope Abrams finished in 17th place with a time of 11:49.60, Gloria Westhoff finished in 24th place with a time of 12:13.10, and Emily Franklin finished in 26th place with a time of 12:26.80.

The 7th-grade boys finished in 7th place as a team in the 1-mile run and had two medalists. Taydin Walker finished in 5th place with a time of 6:05.40 and James Blauser finished in 35th place with a time of 6:52.50. The 7th-grade girls had one medalist with Eloise Baerg finishing in 11th place with a time of 7:14.00.
