The MMS Track team opens their season at the Winfield Quad, brings home 9 gold medals.

The Mulvane Middle School track team opened up its season on Thursday, April 6th at Winfield and the Wildcats came home with 9 first-place finishes, 11 second-place finishes, and 6 third-place finishes. The 8th-grade boys finished in 2nd place with 56 points, the 7th-grade boys finished in 3rd place with 40 points, the 8th-grade girls finished in 4th place with 29.5 points, and the 7th-grade girls finished in 4th place with 41 points.

8th grader Blake Ferraro grabbed the gold in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash with times of 13.71 and 28.77 respectively. 7th grader Keileigh Burke finished in 1st place in the high jump with a height of 4 feet 4 inches. Haylynn Jones finished in 1st place in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 35.27. 

8th grader Cole Zimmerman took the top spot in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.66. Grant Cornett finished in 1st place in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:39.56. Ethan Hankins grabbed the gold in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:21.53. Cole Zimmerman also finished in 1st place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.10. The 7th-grade boys 4x400 meter relay team of Keaton Grizzle, Kole Schwanke, Fenton Smith, and Howard Dine finished in 1st place with a time of 4:42.34.
