The girls basketball team faced a couple of tough teams last week, falling to Andale and Circle.

The Mulvane basketball teams host the Circle Thunderbirds last Friday for the Winter Homecoming. The varsity girls had another great game of defense, holding the Birds to just 1 point in the first quarter, but the Cats went into halftime down 7-10. The Cats were outscored 16-21 in the second half and fell 23-31. Teagan Garrison led the Cats with 15 points and Lauren Young led the Cats on the boards with 6 rebounds. 

The JV team had a shootout with Circle as they were back and forth all ballgame. The girls took the 11-5 lead in the first quarter and had a 2 point edge at halftime. The girls jumped to a big lead in the 3rd quarter and the Thunderbirds made a run in the 4th quarter, but the Cats were able to hold on for the 36-34 win. Reece Lazier had a great game and led the girls with 18 points on the evening.

The girls made the trip to Andale last Tuesday for a non-league matchup with a tough Indian's team. After a tough 2nd quarter, the Cats found themselves down 8-31 at halftime and the Cats fell 20-47 after the final buzzer. Teagan Garrison led the Wildcats with 10 points on the evening and Madison Shaw, Lauren Young, and Ashlyn Alumbaugh all finished with 3 rebounds each.

The JV girls had a tough game falling 11-49. There were no stats available from this game. The Fr/So girls had a 2-quarter game and had a close one but fell 11-15. Elle Everhart led the Ladycats with 4 points in the game.
