The girls basketball team only had one game last week on Tuesday as they traveled to Clearwater for a non-league matchup against the Indians. The Wildcats put up a fantastic defensive effort, holding the Indians who were averaging almost 50 points a game to just 31 points, including just 2 points in the first quarter and 0 points in the 3rd quarter. 
The Cats hung on strong but fell by 3 points 28-31. Teagan Garrison led the Wildcats with 25 points in the game and Lauren Young finished in double digits on the boards with 12 rebounds. "I'm so proud of our girls in their defensive effort against a good Clearwater team," said Coach Carpenter. "We were right in it till the end because of their hard work on the defensive end."
The JV girls also had a close game with the Indians that came down to just a 2 point difference in the 4th quarter, but the Cats were unable to make up the difference, falling 18-23. Kinley Kendrick led the girls with 7 points on the evening.
The Fr/So team had a 2-quarter game and fell behind 2-13 after the first quarter. The girls fell to the Indians 6-15. Jaryn Baker led the Cats with 4 points in the matchup.

The Wildcats will host the annual Wildcat Classic tournament next week with games starting on Monday, January 23rd. The Cats will face Wichita Collegiate in their first game on Monday at 7:40 PM.
