The 8th grade girls get their first win of the season over Winfield, 7th girls remain undefeated on the season.

The Mulvane Middle School girl's basketball teams traveled to Winfield on Thursday, November 10th for a league matchup against the Vikings. The 8A girls went into halftime down 4-8, but came back in the second half, outscoring Winfield 12-4 to get their first win of the season with a final score of 16-12. Braylinn Curtis led the Wildcats with 10 points on the evening.

The 7A team had no trouble against Winfield as they won the game 39-9 to remain undefeated for the season. The Cats took the 11-3 lead in the first quarter and went into halftime up 20-3. The Wildcats won the third quarter and went into the fourth up 29-7. The Wildcats outscored Winfield in the fourth quarter and finished with a 39-9 win. Brittani Peschel led the girls with 21 points in the game.

The 7B team jumped out ahead in the first quarter 6-0 and went into halftime up 10-6. The Cats won the third quarter and went into the fourth up 14-8. The girls outscored Winfield in the fourth quarter and finished with an 18-11 win. Jadea Sheppard led the Cats with 6 points on the evening. The 8B game was canceled.

The girls traveled to Clearwater on Monday, November 7th for a league matchup against the Indians. The 7A team took care of business as they kept Clearwater at bay all game long. The Wildcats allowed only 2 points in the first and second quarters and were ahead at halftime 25-4. The girls continued this trend in the second half, only allowing 2 points, and finished with the 52-6 win. Brittani Peschel led the Wildcats with 17 points on the evening and Kaitlyn Paul and Halle Ensley broke into double digits with 13 and 11 points respectively.

The 8A team had trouble getting points to fall against Clearwater as they fell 2-34. Clearwater jumped out ahead of the girls in the first half as Mulvane went into halftime down 0-12. Clearwater held the girls at bay in the second half and the girls fell 2-34. Maci Pfannenstiel led the girls with 2 points on the evening.

The 7B team had a monster first quarter, outscoring the Indians 14-0 and went into halftime up 17-4. The Wildcats coasted in the second half and got the 27-9 win. Maddy Murray led the Cats with 10 points on the evening.

The 8B team took care of business and almost completed the shutout in the 2-quarter game, winning 12-1. Braylinn Curtis led the Wildcats with 8 points in the game.
