The Mulvane football team faced a tough McPherson team in league matchup, fall to the Bullpups.

The Mulvane varsity football team made the long trip to McPherson in week 7 for a league matchup against the Bullpups. The Cats topped the Bullpups twice last year, but MAC had the edge this year with a 46-21 win. The Wildcats got on the board after a fumble recovery in the endzone in the second quarter by Garrett Olson. Mulvane found the endzone twice in the fourth quarter with runs by Fisher Dye and Julien Myers, but the Cats were too far down to capitalize on the momentum.

The Wildcat offense finished the game with 214 total yards on 59 plays with 191 yards rushing and 23 yards passing. Lucas Sorensen finished with 23 yards on 6 completions. Fisher Dye led the Cats on the ground with 119 yards rushing on 19 attempts and 1 rushing TD. Julien Myers finished with 62 yards rushing on 10 attempts and had 1 rushing TD.

The defense was led by Tyke Creekmore (Sr.) who finished with 6.5 tackles (3 solo - 7 assist), 0.5 tackles for loss (TFL), and 0.5 sacks. Shannon Fuller (Jr.) also finished with 6.5 tackles (4-5). Garrett Olson (Jr.) finished with 5.5 tackles (2-7). Trenton Davis (Sr.) finished with 4.0 tackles (0-8), and Brayden Tatum also had 4.0 tackles (4-0) and 1.0 tackles for loss.

The Freshman / Sophomore team hosted the Bullpups on Monday, October 17th, and the teams went back and forth all game. The Cats went into halftime up 14-6 with touchdowns by Manny Myers and Kurtis Caruthers, and the Cat scored again in the 4th quarter with a nice 56-yard run by Manny Myers, but the Bullpups were able to score 3 times in the 4th for the 26-22 win.
