Mulvane Softball finished the regular season with 8 games in one week, finish strong 6-2 to head into regionals.

It was a very busy week for the Mulvane softball team last week as they had 8 games in 6 days due to rainouts and postponements from earlier in the season. The Cats went 6-2 in those 8 games and also gave the undefeated Cheney team their first loss of the season. The Cats finished the season strong, looking ahead to the regional tournament that starts tomorrow, May 17th at 2:00 PM.

The Wildcats faced the tough Cheney squad on Saturday, May 7th and the Cats battled hard in game 1, but fell 1-3 to the Cardinals.

Jalin Lavers pitched for the Cats in game 1. She tossed 7 innings facing 30 batters, giving up 3 runs, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts.

Mulvane had 5 hits in the game. Addison Mackey, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, and India Downs each had hits in the game for the Cats. Addison Mackey went 2-for- 3 at the plate to lead Mulvane in hits.

Mulvane had 1 RBI in the game. Addison Mackey recorded the only RBI for the Cats. Addison Mackey knocked in 1 runner to lead Mulvane in RBIs.

Mulvane stole 2 bases during the game with India Downs and Makaylen Warner both recording stolen bases.

The Cats bounced back in game 2, grabbing a 5-1 lead by the fourth inning and was able to hold on for the 9-7 win.

Peyton Baggett earned the win for the Cats. She tossed 4 and 1/3 innings, giving up three runs, four hits, and walking three, and three strikeouts and Jalin Lavers provided relief for 2 and 2/3 inning, giving up four runs on four hits and three strikeouts.

The Cats grabbed 10 hits in the game. Olivia Ellis, Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, Jalin Lavers, Regan Witt, and India Downs each grabbed hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Madison Phipps and Addison Mackey both had 2 hits to lead the Cats. Jalin Lavers had 1 home run in the game.

The Cats had 9 RBIs in the game. Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Addison Mackey, Jalin Lavers, and India Downs each grabbed RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats. Madison Phipps knocked in 3 runners to lead the Mulvane Wildcats in RBIs.

The Wildcats traveled to Buhler on Monday, May 9th for a non-league matchup against the Crusaders. The Cats had a monster first inning with 12 runs and ended the game early with the 16-0 win.

Jalin Lavers pitched her first no-hitter of the year and earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. She tossed four innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, walking one, and had nine strikeouts.

The Wildcats had 11 hits in the game. Madison Phipps, Addison Mackey, Jalin Lavers, India Downs, Olivia Ellis, and Regan Witt each had hits in the game for the Wildcats. Addison Mackey went 3-for- 3 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits.

The Wildcats had 10 RBIs in the game. Madison Phipps, Addison Mackey, India Downs, Regan Witt, Makaylen Warner, and Kammie Schanz each had RBIs for the Wildcats. Addison Mackey knocked in 3 runners to lead the Wildcats in RBIs.

The Wildcats stole 16 bases during the game with Madison Phipps , Addison Mackey , Jalin Lavers , India Downs , Olivia Ellis , Regan Witt , Emma Kendrick , and Makaylen Warner all grabbing stolen bases.

The Cats kept the foot on the gas in Game 2 versus Buhler and got the 13-1 run rule win.

Peyton Baggett earned the win for Mulvane. She tossed five innings, giving up one run, four hits, walking zero, and four strikeouts.

Mulvane collected 12 hits in the game. Olivia Ellis, Reece Lazier, Addison Mackey, Kammie Schanz, Amber Hively, Makaylen Warner, Avrie Warner, Peyton Baggett, and Regan Witt each collected hits in the game for the Cats. Olivia Ellis, Reece Lazier, and Addison Mackey all had 2 hits to lead Mulvane.

Mulvane grabbed 13 RBIs in the game. Olivia Ellis, Reece Lazier, Addison Mackey, Amber Hively, Makaylen Warner, Peyton Baggett, and Regan Witt each collected RBIs for the Cats. Addison Mackey, and Regan Witt all had 3 RBIs to lead Mulvane.

The Cats next faced Wellington for the second time this season, this time for official league games and they were at Wellington. The Cat jumped out ahead quick in game 1 with 11 runs in the first two innings and finished with the 14-1 run rule.

Jalin Lavers earned the win for the Cats. She tossed five innings, giving up one run, five hits, walking one, and had ten strikeouts.

Mulvane grabbed 14 hits in the game. Jalin Lavers, Addison Mackey, Madison Phipps, Makaylen Warner, Regan Witt, Kammie Schanz, Olivia Ellis, and Avrie Warner each grabbed hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Addison Mackey and Madison Phipps both had 3 hits to lead the Wildcats.

Game 2 was a different story as Wellington jumped out ahead with 9 runs in the first two innings, but the Cats clawed their way back in and had a 7 run 5th inning to tie the game. The Cats added 2 more runs in the 6th and 7th for the comeback 11-9 win.

Peyton Baggett made the start for the Cats, pitching four ininngs, giving up nine runs, sixteen hits, and one strikeout. Lavers earned the win for Mulvane. She tossed three innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, walking one, and six strikeouts.

The Wildcats collected 23 hits in the game. Emma Kendrick, Regan Witt, India Downs, Madison Phipps, Peyton Baggett, Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, Olivia Ellis, and Avrie Warner each collected hits in the game for the Cats. Regan Witt went 4-for- 5 at the plate to lead the Cats in hits. Addison Mackey had 1 home run in the game.

The Wildcats grabbed 11 RBIs in the game. Emma Kendrick, Regan Witt, Peyton Baggett, Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, and Olivia Ellis each collected RBIs for the Cats. Addison Mackey knocked in 3 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs.

One day later, the Cats traveled to Ark City for the final regular season games of the 2021-22 season. The Wildcats blanked the Bulldogs 7-0 in game 1.

Jalin Lavers earned the win for the Cats. She tossed seven innings, giving up zero runs, six hits, walking one, and five strikeouts.

The Wildcats collected 15 hits in the game. Addison Mackey, Madison Phipps, Regan Witt, Jalin Lavers, Avrie Warner, India Downs, and Makaylen Warner each collected hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Addison Mackey went 4-for- 4 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits.

The Wildcats grabbed 6 RBIs in the game. Addison Mackey, Madison Phipps, Regan Witt, and Jalin Lavers each collected RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats. Addison Mackey, and Regan Witt all had 2 RBIs to lead the Cats.

Game 2 was a battle to the very last inning but the Cats fell 11-12.

Peyton Baggett piched for the Wildcats. She tossed six innings, giving up twelve runs on fourteen hits, seven walks, and three strikeouts.

The Mulvane Wildcats had 18 hits in the game. Makaylen Warner, Regan Witt, Addison Mackey, Avrie Warner, Olivia Ellis, Madison Phipps, India Downs, Kammie Schanz, and Peyton Baggett each had hits in the game for Mulvane. Makaylen Warner, Regan Witt, and Addison Mackey all had 3 hits to lead the Cats. Madison Phipps had 1 home run in the game.

The Mulvane Wildcats collected 11 RBIs in the game. Addison Mackey, Avrie Warner, Olivia Ellis, Madison Phipps, India Downs, and Peyton Baggett each had RBIs for Mulvane. Madison Phipps knocked in 5 runners to lead the Wildcats in RBIs.

The Cats stole 4 bases during the game with Regan Witt , Avrie Warner , Kammie Schanz , and Peyton Baggett all grabbing stolen bases.

The Wildcats will play in the 4A Regional #1 bracket tomorrow at Clearwater. The Cats will face Rose Hill at 2:00 PM and the winners of the 2 games will play for the regional championship that evening.
