The Mulvane baseball team gives Collegiate their first loss of the season, split with Spartans and Indians on the week.

The Mulvane baseball team had two league doubleheaders last week against Collegiate on Monday and Clearwater on Wednesday. The Cats split in both evenings and are sitting at 8-6 on the season and 4-4 in league play.

In game 1 against Clearwater, the Cats jumped out ahead with 2 runs in the first and added on 6 more runs throughout the game for the 8-2 win.

Freshman Nolan Fevurly earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. He tossed five and 1/3 innings, giving up two runs, six hits, walking four, and had four strikeouts. Senior Mason Ellis closed out the game the last couple of innings, facing six batters and had three strikeouts.

The Wildcats had 13 hits in the game. Mason Ellis, Parker Richardson, Cooper Schmidt, Ian Comer, Garrett Olson, Keaton Herd, and Hunter Seier each had hits in the game for Mulvane. Mason Ellis went 3-for- 4 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits.

The Wildcats grabbed 3 RBIs in the game. Parker Richardson, Ian Comer, and Hunter Seier each had RBIs for Mulvane. Parker Richardson, Ian Comer, and Hunter Seier all had 1 RBIs to lead Mulvane.

In game 2, the Indians were able to cross eight runners across the plate in the first inning and the Cats had trouble clawing their way back in and fell 6-14. Tyke Creekmore toed the rubber for the Cats, facing 29 batters, giving up seven runs on ten hits. Parker Richardson pitched 2/3rds of the last inning, giving up seven runs on four hits.

The Wildcats had 11 hits in the game. Garrett Olson, Hunter Seier, Mason Ellis, Trenton Davis, Cooper Schmidt, and Parker Richardson each had hits in the game for Mulvane. Hunter Seier went 3-for- 4 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits. Mason Ellis had 1 home run in the game.

The Wildcats collected 5 RBIs in the game. Mason Ellis, Cooper Schmidt, and Parker Richardson each had RBIs for Mulvane. Mason Ellis, and Cooper Schmidt all had 2 RBIs to lead Mulvane.

The Cats faced a very good, undefeated, Collegiate team on Monday and the Cats were able to drop in a run in the first inning. The teams ended up tied by the 4th inning 4-4 and the Cats were able to score two runs in the last inning and hold on for the 6-4 win, giving the Spartans their first loss of the season.

Julien Myers earned the win for Mulvane. He tossed six and 2/3 innings, giving up four runs, eight hits, walking three, and one strikeout. Hunter Seier closed out the game and got the save.

The Mulvane Wildcats had 7 hits in the game. Ian Comer, Hunter Seier, Chase Dieker, Parker Richardson, and Mason Ellis each had hits in the game for the Cats. Ian Comer and Hunter Seier both had 2 hits to lead the Cats. Parker Richardson had 1 home run in the game.

The Mulvane Wildcats grabbed 5 RBIs in the game. Ian Comer, Parker Richardson, and Cooper Schmidt each had RBIs for the Cats. Ian Comer and Parker Richardson both had 2 RBIs to lead the Cats.

Game 2 was another close battle, but the Cats fell 2-4 in the nightcap. Seier pitched five innings in the game, facing 25 batters and giving up four runs, five hits, and seven strikeouts. Ellis pitched one inning as well, giving up no runs against four batters.

The Wildcats grabbed 4 hits in the game. Ian Comer, Parker Richardson, and Hunter Seier each grabbed hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Ian Comer went 2-for- 3 at the plate to lead the Mulvane Wildcats in hits.

The Wildcats collected 2 RBIs in the game. Hunter Seier and Garrett Olson both grabbed the only RBIs for the Wildcats. Hunter Seier, and Garrett Olson all had 1 RBIs to lead the Cats.

The JV team played one seven inning game against Collegiate and won 14-7.

The Wildcats were supposed to play today but those games have been postponed due to weather. The Cats will be back on the field on Thursday, May 5th at Wellington.
