The Mulvane baseball team made the short trip to Belle Plaine for a non-league double header, get the sweep.

The Mulvane Baseball team made the short trip to Belle Plaine on Monday, April 11th for a pair of non-league games with the Dragons. The Cats took an early lead in the first game with 6 runs in the first inning. The Dragons tried to make a run and got within 1 run but the Cats dropped in another 5 runs in the 5th inning and held on for the 14-10 win.

Creekmore earned the win for Mulvane. He tossed 3.67 innings, giving up 4 runs, 5 hits, walking 1, and had 2 strikeouts. Mason Ellis and Brayden Tatum both also had some time on the mound. Ellis tossed 1.67 innings, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. Tatum tossed 2 innings giving up 1 run, 1 hit, and 3 strikeouts.

The Cats collected 12 hits in the game. Garrett Olson, Ian Comer, Hunter Seier, Parker Richardson, Cooper Schmidt, Chase Dieker, and Mason Ellis each collected hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Ian Comer went 3-for- 5 at the plate to lead Mulvane in hits.

The Cats grabbed 10 RBIs in the game. Ian Comer, Hunter Seier, Parker Richardson, Cooper Schmidt, Chase Dieker, and Keaton Herd each collected RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats. Hunter Seier knocked in 4 runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs.

In game 2, it only took the Cats a couple of innings to get a large lead over the Dragons and the Cats got the 13-0 shutout run-rule.

Freshman Nolan Fevurly made his varsity debut for the Cats on the mound, tossing 5 innings and giving up 0 runs, only 3 hits, walking zero, and an impressive 9 strikeouts.

The Cats grabbed 7 hits in the game. Trenton Davis, Nolan Fevurly, Parker Richardson, Ian Comer, and Hunter Seier each grabbed hits in the game for Mulvane. Parker Richardson went 3-for- 4 at the plate to lead Mulvane in hits.

The Cats collected 9 RBIs in the game. Trenton Davis, Parker Richardson, Ian Comer, Hunter Seier, and Garrett Olson each grabbed RBIs for Mulvane. Parker Richardson knocked in 3 runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs.

The JV squad split with Andale, winning the first game 12-2 and losing the second game 0-4. The JV squad also participated in the Heights JV tournament last Saturday, falling in their first 2 games to Bishop Carroll 1-10 and Derby 2-7. Their 3rd game was cancelled due to lack of players on Wellington's team.

The varsity team is sitting at 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in league play. The JV squad is also 3-3 on the season.

The Cats will be back in action on Monday, April 18th in a non-league matchup vs Winfield at home starting at 4:00 PM.
