The MMS girls made the long drive to Prairie Hills for the Patriot League tournament Saturday morning and the 8th-grade girls won both of their games and are heading to the Patriot League championship game scheduled for Monday, against Wellington.
The girls kicked off the tournament as the #3 seed and faced Haysville West in game 1. The Cats took a 7-4 first-quarter lead and clamped down on defense as they went into halftime up 13-4. The teams were pretty even in the second half and the Cats coasted to the 23-11 win. Kylie Schwanke led the Wildcats with 8 points in the game.

The girls faced the #2 seed in the tournament next, the Clearwater Indians. The girls were neck-and-neck in the first half with the Indians and went into halftime down 6-8 in a defensive battle. The girls won the 3rd quarter 4-3 and went into the 4th down by 1 point. The Wildcats were able to get the lead in the 4th quarter and held on for the 17-16 win. Elle Everhart led the girls with 8 points on the evening.

The 7th-grade girls closed out their 2021-22 season as they faced the #3 seed Haysville West in the tournament and fell 8-31. Rhyan Parsons led the Cats with 6 points in the game.
