The MMS girls BBall close out the 2021-22 season with a split with Rose Hill and Clearwater, next up league tournament.

The MMS Girls wrapped up their 2021-22 regular season this week as they hosted the Rose Hill Rockets and Clearwater Indians. The 8th-grade girls swept both Rose Hill and Clearwater and the 7th-grade girls fell in both games each night. The 8A team finished their regular season with an 8-5 record and 5-5 in league play and the 8B girls finished with a 7-6 record and 6-4 in league play. The 7A girls finished the season with a 1-12 record and 0-10 in league play and the 7B girls finished with a 1-12 record and 1-9 in league play.

The girls hosted the Rose Hill Rockets on Thursday, December 9th and the 8A team were neck and neck with the Rockets in the first half with the Wildcats down by 1 at halftime, but a 15-7 second half propelled the Cats to a 26-19 win. Kylie Schwanke led the Wildcats with 8 points on the evening.

The 8B team took care of business as they kept Rose Hill at bay all game long and the Wildcats came out with the 34-16 win. Ellie Willig led the Wildcats with 13 points in the game.

The 7A had trouble getting points to fall against Rose Hill as they fell 2-26. Thai Heersche led the Wildcats with 2 points on the evening.

It was a nail-biter of a game as the 7B team faced Rose Hill but the Wildcats fell 12-15 as they struggled to hit the net in the last quarter. Claudia Abbott led the Cats with 4 points on the evening.

The Wildcats hosted the Clearwater Indians on Monday, December 6th and the 8th girls swept the Indians and the 7th girls were swept.

Kylie Schwanke led the girls with 12 points in the 8A game as the girls took down Clearwater 26-19. The girls went into halftime up 17-12 and held on to the lead in a close second half to get the win.

The 7A girls played a good close game against the Indians, but came up short 10-16 as the clock hit 0. Sophie Bruce and Thai Heersche led the girls with 4 points each on the evening.

The 2021-22 regular season has come to a close for the MMS girls basketball but the girls will be playing in the Patriot League Tournament tomorrow (Saturday, December 11th) with the 8th-grade girls playing Haysville West at approximately 10:15 AM and the 7th-grade girls also playing Haysville West at approximately 10:15 AM. All the tournament games will be held at Prairie Hills Middle School.
