The Mulvane Varsity football team hosted their first home game of the 2021 season against the AVCTL D4 opponent Andale Indians. The Indians got on the scoreboard first with a 2-yard rushing TD by Wyatt Spexarth, followed by a 2 point conversion. Andale scored again in the second quarter on a 12 yard run by Logan Spexarth with 2:18 left in the half to bring the score to 0-16 at halftime. The Cats had a couple of good drives in the first half but just could not convert to points. That changed in the second half as senior quarterback Mason Ellis broke a few tackles and scampered down the sideline for a 30 yard TD run (the 2-point conversion failed). That was the last point the Cats could find as most of the game was a defensive battle. The Indians scored a couple of late 4th quarter touchdowns but the score does not reflect how close the game was.
